American companies mean business during trip to Lithuania

2015-07-07

The American-Lithuanian Business Council (ALBC), the leading business association in the United States focused on Lithuania, will travel to Vilnius 7-9 for in depth consultations with Lithuanian government and business leaders.

The ALBC’s agenda for the visit includes meetings with President Dalia Grybauskaite and representatives of the Prime Minister’s office as well as the Ministries of Economy, Energy, Interior, Finance, Health and Defense.

The delegation will review business conditions in Lithuania in light of recent security concerns in the region, as well as discuss the implications of potential changes in the country’s labor code. The delegation will also discuss the need for continued strong support for TTIP from Lithuanian business and government leaders. Recently, members of the ALBC visited Lithuania during the trip of House Speaker John Boehner and visited the LNG terminal in Klaipeda.

“The ALBC is a premier business association which strongly supports bilateral business ties between the United States and Lithuania, represents the top tier of American companies operating in Europe and has been a stanch supporter of TTIP as a means to deepen US-European economic integration”, Ambassador McCarthy said.

Representatives of the following companies are scheduled to be part of the delegation: Exelon, Lilly, Parsons, Raytheon, Strategic Staffing Solutions, Thermo Fisher Scientific and Western Union.
